Welcome to Coffee, Cake, and
Composition,
a blog that combines my love for reading, cooking, and baking.
Who am I?
My name is Katherine, and I am a Greek-American
living in the Northeast of England. Although I do not have a culinary
background, I did start dabbling in the kitchen at a very young age. Guided by
my mother, aunt, & grandmother, who in my opinion are excellent home cooks/bakers, I was
able to pick up quite a few important culinary lessons. My cooking is of course
influenced by my Greek background, but also inspired by my life in New York—the
center of various ethnic cuisines.
Cooking/Baking
Since its conception, my blog has expanded to
include traditional Greek cuisine. I’ve decided to put together a recipe
database which includes cooking & baking recipes that are inexpensive, and easy/fast
to make.
Composition
In addition to sharing my love for
cooking/baking, I will also post book discussions. In my academic career, I have
primarily studied 19th century American and British literature.
However, on my own time, I like to read a wide range of works; as a result, the
“Composition” portion of my blog will encompass texts of all genres and
periods.
I hope that my blog will inspire and motivate
you to experiment in the kitchen—and if not, then I hope you will at least
enjoy the pretty pictures.
After all, there’s nothing better than a good
book, piece of cake, and cup of coffee.
—Katherine
